180th Anniversary of the opening of the Canterbury & Whitstable Railway
On the Bank Holiday Weekend Saturday 1st to Monday 3rd May, Whitstable will be steaming! Over three days of events at The Horsebridge Centre and throughout the area will celebrate the opening day of the first steam hauled passenger service in the world. Make sure to be there!

Chat to experts, investigate historic artefacts and photos, take part in fun experiments, see the award-winning Opening Day cartoon animation and chat to Robert Stephenson about his life and role in the creation of the line.
